8 cups shredded red cabbage
1/2 c. sugar
2 T. salt
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. cider vinegar
Shred cabbage. Mix sugar, salt, water, and vinegar in 3-quart saucepan; cover. Boil 1 minute, then add cabbage. Simmer for 30 minutes until tender.
Delicious served with any pork dish.
