Butter for spreading on bread
Rye bread, cut in 2½-inch squares
3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup sliced ripe olives
1/4 cup chopped onions
1/4 cup mayonnaise
Butter the rye squares and place under the broiler for 2 minutes, or until toasted on both sides.
In a bowl, gently blend the cheese, olives, onions, and mayonnaise until well mixed. Spoon the mixture onto the toasted rye bread and place under the broiler for 3 minutes, or until the cheese bubbles.
Microwave: Prepare and place on serving plates, microwave for approximately 25 seconds.
