Ginger Cookies


3/4 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup dark molasses
1 large egg, beaten
2 cup flour
2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ginger, ground
1 teaspoon cinnamon, ground
1 teaspoon cloves, ground

Cream the butter and sugar together.  Add the egg and the molasses.

Sift the rest of the dry ingredients together and add to the mixture.  Form into about 1-inch balls and roll in granulated sugar.  Place about 2 inches apart on a greased cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees F. for 10 to 12 minutes.
