20 large fresh strawberries; divided
3 ounce cream cheese; softened
2 tablespoons walnuts or pecans; finely chopped
1 1/2 tablespoons powdered sugar
1 teaspoon orange liqueur, or orange juice, optional
Dice 2 strawberries and set aside.
Cut a thin slice from stem end of each remaining berry, forming a base for it to stand on. Cut each berry into four wedges, starting at pointed ends and cutting to, but not through, stem ends.
Beat cream cheese at medium speed with electric mixer until fluffy. Stir in diced berries, walnuts, powdered sugar, and if desired, liqueur.
Spoon or pipe about 1 teaspoon mixture into each berry.
