Cabbage Wedges

1 small head green cabbage; cut into 6 wedges
1 tablespoon sugar
3 tablespoon white vinegar
1 tablespoon onion; finely chopped
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon celery seed

Shredded Cabbage

1 large cabbage; coarsely shredded
2 tablespoon Butter
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1  salt to taste
1  fresh ground pepper
Cook cabbage in a small amount of boiling water, until tender; drain.
Press out excess moisture or pat dry.  Melt butter in skillet. Add nutmeg; stir to blend.  Add cabbage; toss to coat.  Add salt and pepper.

6 tablespoons sugar
2/3 cup balsamic vinegar

Amish Sweet and Sour Steamed Cabbage

1 medium-sized head of cabbage
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoon butter or margarine
3 tablespoon sugar
3 tablespoon vinegar
Cut cabbage in narrow wedges and steam in small amount of water until tender.
Stir in butter. Combine sugar and vinegar.
Pour over cabbage and heat thoroughly.
